Direct Investments

Direct Investments are private market transactions in which Farallon makes a debt, preferred stock or equity investment in a business expecting to receive a cash return and generally additional upside if the business performs according to our projections. We typically look for businesses with substantial franchise value, healthy cash flow, and strong management teams with aligned incentives. For private debt investments we look for inefficiently-financed situations in which we can facilitate a recapitalization, or situations in which traditional financing is not available.

When we find a company that meets these standards, we work hard to secure a transaction and are flexible in the way we invest capital. We are willing to take minority stakes in the companies in which we invest. We have been active investors in a number of industries, including financial services, healthcare, energy and infrastructure.
