  • Andrew J.M. Spokes

    Managing Partner

    San Francisco

    Mr. Spokes is the Managing Partner of the General Partner and the Investment Manager.  Mr. Spokes joined Farallon in 1997.  In 2005, he co-founded Noonday Global Management, Ltd. Before joining Farallon in 1997, Mr. Spokes worked in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs for ten years, most of which time he spent in Europe and Asia.  At the time of his departure from Goldman Sachs, Mr. Spokes was an Executive Director and Head of Corporate Finance for Goldman Sachs (Asia).  Mr. Spokes graduated with a B.A./M.A. in Chemistry from Oxford University.

  • Lars Bane

    Mr. Bane joined Farallon Capital International Limited in 2002, and is now a Managing Member and portfolio manager of Noonday Asset Management LLP. From 2000-2002, Mr. Bane was head of special situations equity sales at Enskilda Securities in London. Before joining Enskilda, he had a similar role at Nordic Partners in New York and Stockholm. Mr. Bane graduated with a Master of Science degree in Finance from Stockholm School of Economics.

  • Paul Caldwell

    Mr. Caldwell, joined us in 2007 and is Member Executor of the Representative Member of Noonday Asset Management Japan, LLC. Prior to joining, Paul served as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs’ European Special Situations Group (ESSG). Before joining ESSG, Paul worked for Goldman Sachs’ Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds in Tokyo. Mr. Caldwell graduated Summa Cum Laude from Princeton University with a B.A. in Public Policy.

  • Richard B. Fried

    Mr. Fried joined us in 1995.  Before joining, Mr. Fried worked for Security Capital Industrial Trust, a real estate investment trust specializing in industrial properties.  At the time of his departure from Security Capital, he was a Vice President in the acquisitions department.  From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Fried was an associate in capital markets at JMB Institutional Realty Corporation.  Mr. Fried graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in History from the University of Pennsylvania.

  • Nicolas Giauque

    Mr. Giauque joined Farallon Capital International Limited in 1998, and is now a Managing Member and portfolio manager as well as chief compliance officer of Noonday Asset Management LLP. Prior to joining, Mr. Giauque worked in the investment banking and asset management divisions of Goldman Sachs for four years in Hong Kong and Singapore. Mr. Giauque graduated with a master’s degree in Management from Hautes Etudes Commerciales.

  • Daniel J. Hirsch

    Mr. Hirsch joined us in 2003. Previously, Mr. Hirsch worked as a corporate law associate in the San Francisco office of Covington & Burling.  Mr. Hirsch graduated from Yale Law School with a J.D. degree and Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in Law Jurisprudence and Social Thought from Amherst College.

  • Michael G. Linn

    Mr. Linn joined us in 2002.  Prior to joining, Mr. Linn worked as an equity derivatives trader at Bank of America, focused on U.S. single stock volatility trading.  Prior to Bank of America, Mr. Linn worked at J.P. Morgan from 1998 to 1999 trading interest rate products.  Mr. Linn graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Economics.

  • Rajiv A. Patel

    Mr. Patel joined us in 1997.  Prior to joining, Mr. Patel worked at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette as an investment banker in the project finance department.  Mr. Patel received an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business and graduated from Cornell University as a Merrill Presidential Scholar, finishing in the top 1% of his class with a B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering.

  • Dr. Thomas G. Roberts Jr.

    Dr. Roberts joined us in 2005, initially as a portfolio manager and later a partner at Noonday Asset Management, L.P. He joined Farallon Capital Management, L.L.C. as a Managing Member in 2010. Prior to joining us, Dr. Roberts was an attending oncologist at Massachusetts General Hospital, an Instructor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School, and a Visiting Scientist at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is board certified in Medical Oncology.  Dr. Roberts obtained two baccalaureate degrees (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Pennsylvania, including a Bachelors of Science from the Wharton School of Business (Phi Beta Kappa junior year). He obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. Dr. Roberts performed his internal medicine training at the Massachusetts General Hospital and his medical oncology training through the Dana-Farber/Partners Cancer Care Oncology Fellowship Program.

  • John R. Warren

    Mr. Warren joined us in 2004.  Prior to joining, Mr. Warren was an associate at Hellman & Friedman, focusing on equity investments in a variety of sectors.  Prior to Hellman & Friedman, Mr. Warren worked as an analyst at Morgan Stanley in the Mergers, Acquisitions & Restructurings Department, where he focused on the media and telecommunications sectors.  Mr. Warren graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in Economics and earned his M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

  • Nancy B.Y. Wu

    Ms. Wu joined us in 2005 and is a Managing Director of Noonday Asset Management Asia (HK) Limited and is a portfolio manager. Ms. Wu previously worked as a portfolio manager at Goldman Sachs’ internal hedge fund group in Hong Kong, where she was responsible for investing in event driven and value opportunities in non-Japan Asia . Prior to joining Goldman Sachs, Ms. Wu was also an analyst in the investment banking division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette in both New York and Hong Kong .Ms. Wu graduated with a B.S. degree in Finance from Massachusetts Institute of Technology where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa.

    Mr. Zage joined us in 2000. Mr. Zage is a Managing Director, Chief Executive Officer and a portfolio manager of Noonday Asset Management Asia Pte. Ltd. Previous to joining, Mr. Zage was a vice president in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs in Singapore, where he was responsible for working on mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance assignments for companies throughout Asia. Prior to moving to Singapore, Mr. Zage worked in the financial institutions group at Goldman Sachs in both New York and Los Angeles, where he focused on bank mergers and acquisitions. He also worked as a public accountant for PriceWaterhouse in New York. Mr. Zage graduated with a B.S. degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

  • Vikram Bagaria

    Mr. Bagaria joined us in 2003 and is a Managing Director and portfolio manager at Noonday Asset Management Asia Pte. Ltd. Previously, Mr. Bagaria was a portfolio manager at Onyx Capital in New York, where he was responsible for investing in event driven and capital structure arbitrage opportunities in Europe and Asia. Prior to Onyx, Mr. Bagaria worked for Goldman Sachs in the international equity arbitrage group in New York. Mr. Bagaria was also an analyst in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs in Singapore, where he worked on mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance assignments for companies throughout Asia. Mr. Bagaria graduated with a B.S. degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a M.S. degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

  • Mikael Brantberg

    Mr. Brantberg joined Noonday Asset Management LLP in 2007 and is a Member and Managing Director. Prior to joining, Mikael worked as an Equity Analyst at Och-Ziff and as an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs in London. Mr. Brantberg graduated from Stockholm School of Economics, Sweden, with an M.Sc. in Finance.

    Mr. Dapice, a Managing Director of Farallon, joined us in 2003. From 2001-2003, Mr. Dapice worked as a financial analyst in the real estate investment banking group at Lazard Frères & Co. LLC. Mr. Dapice graduated with a B.A. degree in Economics from Stanford University.

    Mr. Gliklich, a Managing Director of Farallon, joined us in 2005. Previously, Mr. Gliklich worked as a financial analyst at Goldman Sachs & Co. in the real estate investment banking group. Mr. Gliklich graduated Cum Laude from Harvard College with an A.B. in Chemistry.

  • Charles Gunawan

    Mr. Gunawan joined us in 2012 and is a Managing Director and portfolio manager at Noonday Asset Management Asia Pte. Ltd.  Prior to joining, Mr. Gunawan was a Managing Director and Co-Head of the investment banking division of Credit Suisse Indonesia.  Prior to Credit Suisse, Mr. Gunawan was a Managing Director in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs Singapore, where he focused on origination and execution of advisory and financing deals in Indonesia. Mr. Gunawan graduated from Universitas Indonesia with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and from UCLA Anderson School of Management with an M.B.A.

    Mr. Gupta joined us in 2007 and is a Managing Director and portfolio manager at Noonday Asset Management Asia Pte. Ltd. Prior to joining, Ashish was an associate in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs in Singapore, where he focused on mergers & acquisitions and capital markets assignments for companies in Asia. Mr. Gupta graduated with a B. Com. (Hons) degree from University of Delhi. He obtained his post graduate diploma in management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

  • Stephen P. Heath

    Mr. Heath, a Managing Director of Farallon, joined us in 1998. Prior to joining Farallon, Mr. Heath was vice president at Hearthstone Advisors, the largest investor of institutional capital in the single-family home building business. Mr. Heath graduated from the University of Denver with a B.A. in History.

  • David T. Kim

    Mr. Kim, a Managing Director of Farallon, joined us in 2005.  Prior to joining, Mr. Kim was a senior associate at Francisco Partners where he was responsible for evaluating and executing on private equity, technology-focused investments.  He has also worked in various roles at Bain Capital Partners, Eastern Advisors, and Bain & Company in previous years.  Mr. Kim received an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where he was elected Baker Scholar, and a B.A. with high distinction from Stanford University.

    Mr. Seybold, a Managing Director of Farallon, joined us in 2001. Prior to joining, Mr. Seybold attended Harvard University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with an A.B. in Latin American History and Literature.

  • Max A. Strasburg

    Mr. Strasburg, a Managing Director of Farallon, joined us in 2007.  Previously, Mr. Strasburg worked as a private equity associate at Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. and as an investment banking analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co. Mr. Strasburg graduated with Honors and High Distinction from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Economics and from Stanford Graduate School of Business with an M.B.A.

  • Philipp Strepp

    Mr. Strepp joined Noonday Asset Management LLP in 2007 and is a Member and Managing Director. Prior to joining, Philipp worked as an associate in the corporate finance department of JPMorgan’s European financial institutions group. Mr. Strepp graduated from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, with an MS in Management & Finance.
